Home to a World of Style!

From new denim shapes to bold new ways with animal print, from powered-up pastel shades to light and easy linen, it’s never been easier to set your own style rules than in spring/summer 2025. Here’s some of my favourite new season trends to shop at centre:mk and how I’ll be wearing them.

SS25 Trending Looks

Denim

Denim trends come and go but the truth is, the ‘right’ style is the one you feel best in. Yes, wide-leg jeans are the hottest silhouette right now, but skinny jeans will never be ‘over’. I buy cropped and baggy because they work for me. That’s the attitude to take denim shopping and centre:mk is brimming with options. Do try the edgy barrel shape - it’s a surprisingly flattering leg lengthener and ankle slimmer. While ‘jorts’ - that’s jeans shorts - with their long, loose fit, look great dressed down with flats or up with heels.

Another strong denim trend? Double, or even triple denim, for men and women. Instead of matching your denim hues, deliberately clash those washes: try faded jeans or a skirt with a dark wash shirt. Add a third tone in a jacket. Of course there are plenty of polished denim options too, like sleek shirt and skirt co-ords from the likes of Mint Velvet. And a great way to look very current in any of your preferred shapes? Belts are suddenly everywhere and just the thing to add polish to any denim piece.

Animal Print

Will our love affair with animal print ever die? Unlikely. For spring, the options have gone wild. Choose from cheetah, lynx, or maybe snake-print is more your thing?

Even cow print’s having a moment. But the big news is zebra. And while the yellow undertones of leopard might not flatter all skin tones, monochromatic zebra is a multi-functional canvas for everyone. Dare to wear the dramatic stripes head to toe in a dress or a strappy two-piece: Mango has fantastic options. And black and white is a perfect neutral to team with any other colour: a cheery yellow handbag, or a bright red shoe. The more daring of you might enjoy clashing different animal prints. Zebras and leopards might not be friends out on the Serengeti, but it’s a different story for an outfit!

Summer Linen

Fuss free, breathable, ultra-cooling - I don’t need to explain why linen is a perennial summer classic. And while it never goes out of style, it’s definitely enjoying a return to glorious form. Possibly because there’s a comfort in its simplicity, but it’s also a reassuringly eco-conscious choice that feels and looks beautiful. The evidence is in virtually every centre:mk store you care to name. Reiss has some exceptional dresses but I’m excited by the variety coming through.

A cute shirt and shorts co-ord in a pretty print is the perfect fuss-free look for sunny picnics. A pair of loosely-tailored trousers give you comfort and polish, even on a sweltering commute. Men, you’ll be pleased to see plenty of smart, lightweight tailoring options to keep you looking sharp - and melt-proof. For off-duty, longer-line linen shorts are an elegant way to do summer casual.

Tailoring for Ocassions

Fashion has fallen hard for what I call the ice cream sundae palette and it’s dominating occasionwear. Think pale yellow, pistachio green, powder blue, blush pink, paired with light beiges and creams. But make no mistake, pastels can pack a loud punch when you need a standout entrance, especially when you wear your favourite shade head to toe.

Joyously, designers are also breaking all the rules for event dressing. An elegant shorts set can be just as glamorous as a pretty floral dress for your next summer do. Similarly, the oft-forgotten tank top has emerged as a ‘hero’ piece, and looks as chic as any blazer worn with trousers. Guys, why not try replacing a buttoned up shirt and tie with a bandana? It’s an unexpected flourish that’s more comfortable and still looks well considered. And that is the real key to getting occasion wear right.

Powder Pink

The shade that’s set to be the colour of summer 2025, is powder pink. Perhaps it’s a rebellion against that tsunami of Barbiecore hot pink over the last couple of years, but whatever the reason, it’s great news for every skin tone. Powder pink could also be called ‘power pink’, because running the gamut from classic bubblegum shades to more blush tones, you’re bound to find a shade you love. My favourite colour to pair it with is khaki, but it also works well with basic blacks. John Lewis for a great range of powder pink looks from lightweight knits to gorgeous midi dresses And no, powder pink isn’t just for girls. It’s not ‘feminine’, it’s just fabulous. For men, a fine-knit polo shirt in a soft pink is a very dapper partner for everything from a navy suit to a pair of relaxed weekend shorts in pink’s favourite partner, beige.
