Giovanni's Downtown Gelato award-winning flagship store (MK9) is looking for a temporary part time gelatista who can work midweek & weekends. The successful candidate must have a can do attitude for teamwork and shares with us our passion for quality and reliability.

Successful applicant will be in direct contact with our customers on a daily basis and will be our ambassadors for the company on the front line, helping us to build a great brand, scoop after scoop.

 

To develop a true sales culture throughout the kiosk and deliver exceptional service. To exceed sales and service targets and to lead by example and ensure the brand's core values are reflected at all times. Weekend availability is essential for this job position 

Your duties will be customer focused:

• To serve customers in a friendly and welcoming way
• To take customer orders quickly and efficiently and where appropriate give advice or make suggestions and up sell on all extra items available
• To maintain sanitation and orderliness of all equipment, supplies and utensils
• To assist with opening up and closing down the kiosk
• Demonstrates a complete understanding of daily menu items and accurately explains them to customers
• Serves as an advocate of selling techniques to the customer by establishing good communication and assisting in the buying decision-making process  
• Ensure proper presentation of Gelato cabinet, portion control and maintenance of proper serving temperatures is followed.
• Making sure the kiosk and Cabinet point is cleaned and ready for service the next day
• Ensure that Master Protocol(s) is completed when on shift and sign at the end of each shift
• To follow procedure when using cash register and how to accept each form of payment
• Visual acuity to determine accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of work assigned and determine safety of workplace surroundings
• Full use of Stock room adhering to health & safety regulations and guidelines
• Ensure Drainage is carried out correctly and also dispose of rubbish, ensuring that health and safety regulations and guidelines are followed at all times.
• To ensure the external areas of the kiosk are set up where appropriate and kept clean and tidy.
• To assist with any washing up and cleaning and surfaces are kept to a minimum and cleaned

Ability to commute/relocate: Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

Education: A-Level or masters degree equivalent (preferred)

Experience: 

• Customer Service: 1 year (preferred)
  Food preparation & handling: 1 year (preferred)
  Food service: 1 year (preferred)

Language: English or Italian (essential/ preferred)
